Hermetically sealed means sealed so as to be airtight.

Yes, I remember 1/3 pint bottles of milk at school.
Until Thatcher The Milk Snatcher came along in October 1970.
I think that was '79 she came into power? maybe as a minister, she got rid of milk earlier than that, but certainly not '70 for me! I was born '72, unless as stated local councils continued?
You are well aware that Maggie invented whippy ice cream?
Joinerjohn, I don't understand the concept of 'old style' Vodka? Surely there is only one way to make it? Maybe the new method is to triple filter/distill it? You could do that 20 times if needsbe. I suppose the old vodka comprises potatoes, and most people store alcohol incorrectly. White wine chilled, red wine room temperature, Vodka frozen. It won't freeze.
Also, I learnt recently that contrary to popular belief, you can make your own Vodka at home, it's only illegal to sell it.
As you state 'hermetically' sealed refers to crown tops, so not all milk is hermetically sealed?
I've drunk milk straight from a cow to a churn, because I worked on a farm, and raw milk is disgusting!. Urgh!
I wanted to be random, and was sent free JD glasses that are square, and thought, hmm..so searched out square plates etc...could not find any. Then on 'Come dine with me', everyone uses them!
If you fill out a JD form, they just send you free stuff, every couple of months. I recommend everyone do it. I've placemats, mousemats, wallets, cocktail stirrer, keyrings, whatever.
