Hi
We are having a shower room re-fitted and was wondering what would be the best way to run a supply (s) for it.
Would it be to have a seperate ring with FCU's supplying lighting, underfloor heating, shaver socket & an extractor fan or to run these from existing rings with FCU's

Many thanks

If it is an electric shower then you would need to determine the what the power output of the shower would be. Under normal circumstances, when clipped direct and without insulation issues, a 6mm T&E cable with a 40Amp MCB on its own RCD protected circui would fit the bill up to 8.5kw.

This part of your question either suggests that you are actually taliking about a power shower which may be run from the Ring Final circuit via a suitably rated FCU, or you haven't really got a clue what your talking about.
It's difficult to determine which it is when you start mixing underfloor heating , shaving sockets and lights from 'existing rings'.

My advice would be to speak to the person who is refitting your shower and get him to engage a qualified electrician. The electrical work proposed requires LABC notification as probably does the bathroom refit so you might as well get it done all in one go.

Hi
Thanks for your reply.
No it isn't an electric shower, there is a pump that is already in situ in the bungalow supplying hot water all roung and cold to another shower.
