Laying Solid Wood Floor ?

Hi,

Looking at laying Solid wood floor on Concreate Sub floor.

Not Sure of the Exact Proceedure due to so many variations.


Do i screed, or can i get away without screeding ?

Lay a DMP ?

Then Lay Underlay ?

Then How does the wood floor stick, due i then glue or do i then lay more adeshesive sheet over the Underlay.

Please Help ???


What i want is a floor that looks good, does come apart and does not sound horrible when walking on it.

Screed or levelling is require if the floor is not level. +/- 3mm over 3 meters is the British Standard, but check the wood manufacturers recommendations.

DPM if the floor is damp. Check with a box hydrometer.

Underlay if you are floating laminate OR Glue if it's a solid but many other variations possible.
