...anyone heard of this, is this a good boiler.

I posted here yesterday because mine wasn't working and I had to call out British gas engineer since I presumed that they knew what they were doing.. Apparently not!

One turned up, asked for the instruction manual and then said he had never seen that boiler before... Then he phones another guy who says the same thing..they have fixed nothing since there is no fault with the boiler ( I told them that from reading the display screen) and apparently it was the siemens thermostat, and they charged me £229 for 45 mins work which they reckon took so long because the boiler was in the loft which had no lighting (it has and I gave them a giant torch).

In short, I believe they are trying to sell me a new boiler and putting the wind up me with this one... Can someone put my mind at rest and tell me that these guys were completely useless and that this boiler isn't made in china (yes he told me that) and they aren't - uk based.

If it's a year old call Intergas or better still the installer, as it's still under warranty.

I seriously doubt BG would know what an Intergas looks like let alone repair it.

If you don't listen you get taken to the cleaners and you just have been.

I would seriously question their charge, especially as they haven't got a clue.

And what happened to the £89.00 fixed price repair.

Intergas are brilliant boilers, probably the best on the market, it is still under warranty, so why the hell haven't you phoned them, unless you know the problem isn't a boiler fault.

Is £89 until you go over 30 mins which they did.

Yes, I'm aware of advice given yesterday but forgive me if I don't just invite someone I don't know or have no references from into my house to fix a boiler at short notice. I will learn from my mistakes.

I posted on here for help, not for someone to tell me I told you so.

At least you have confirmed what I already know, the boiler is fine and British gas are xxxx.

Thank you.

You should still complain, if they knew what they were doing they wouldn't have spent 30mins on the phone chatting.

There's some very good guy on the forum I could recommend several had you posted a location.

You posted on here for help, but took no notice. "is that our fault".

The intergas boilers are superb !
the fact that you've got some numpties including bg that haven't got a clue is tough !

phone intergas and ask for a local specialist and how can anyone charge
when they haven't fixed anything !!

From what I gather it's not a boiler fault, but an external stat/control/electric fault.

I doubt that you knew the BG nupty who came to you!

Suppose you had a heart attack in the street and by chance an ambulance was passing? Would you decline their life saving assistance just because you did not know them?

Worse still, suppose that I was passing and diagnosed that you needed CPR? Would you use your dying breath to tell me to go away and leave you to die?

The Intergas boilers are made in Holland and any seriously interested engineer would read the trade press and visit exhibitions and learn about everything in the marketplace. British Gas staff turn off at 5 PM !

The only thing that they have done wrong is to tell you they were made inn China. That is so basic and untrue that I think it justifies a serious complaint and a discretionary refund of much of your payment. In any case they have a laptop with details of every boiler they repair on it.

PS The intergas have a five year warrantee when installed by an approved installer. BUT to render that valid it needs a documented service every year. It seems that you have not bothered to do this and have prejudiced your warrantee!

Just read both threads...very amusing.

What error codes does the boiler give - if any.

You can't really moan at us too much. You were told exactly what would happen if you continued on you path of action.

Funnily enough that is what occurred. Being grumpy ain't gonna get you very far is it?

Already on the coffee ;)

Ventured into loft, boiler is off with error code 13 and the red led light is flashing above the reset button.

According to manual if above I'd happening it mean sensor fault 1 and says check wiring for break and replace S1

S1 is the top sensor on the HEX. It is the hottest part and the most likely fail point. You could have a loose wire, but I have never come across one in 7 years of fitting this boiler range.

I have had poor connections inside the sensor which will will be covered under the two years warranty and takes 30 seconds to change.

ONCE I have a top sensor fail code for no apparent reason and it turned out to be the DHW sensor. Think it was a different fault code number. Once the kettle has boiled, and the office PC has gotten up to steam I will check the job records.

These boilers are very simple - shows a lot for the average BG employee/subbie dunnit ;).

I assume the boiler pressure was up to 1 bar?

Not knowing where in the UK you are I can't help with whom to call. But Intergas would be a start or the original installer.

If you can't get any joy from those two then call Atmos Heat Systems or check their website for a company local to you. The sell the same boiler as yours as well as the older (some might say) superior InterCombi HE32.

Thanks so much for your help, finally someone who knows what they are talking about.

I have called intergas and they have said they can send someone near me to service it since I'm under 2 years warranty...

Exact same fault came up yesterday and the bf man said he fixed it, my xxxx.

Thanks for your help, at least I know what it is and what engineer should be doing when he comes out.. I'm in Bromley, Kent

If you have no joy with Intergas there a company called Amtechnica based in Croydon that are related more to the Atmos version of the boiler.

He will be able to help, but it will cost you.

Intergas engineer will have these sensors with him and it'll take him longer to park than change it.

Assuming the basics are covered I doubt he will even do much testing and just change the part.

I have not offered you much more advise than the others though.
