Hi, I am shortly going to ring round for a price for new fascia, soffitts and downpipes done the proper way, not just nailed to the old wood.
I just wondered wot price i'm going to be looking at per metre so i don't get ripped off.
Any help would be great, I live in the north east.

You are looking anywhere between £40-£100 per linear meter of fsg to be done correctly (removing all old timber fascia and soffit)....
Dont assume though, that you will get a better job done the more you will pay as there are some excellent private fsg installers about that wont charge the earth, best advise i can suggest is recommendation.

If anyone is doing UPVC roofline replacement for £40 a metre, or anywhere near it, they are
1)Not using top quality Grade 1 UPVC, and the products will discolour over time
2)using labourers and not tradesmen. This is a skilled job!
3)Will not have proper Public liability insurance, and therefore damages/accidents are not covered.

A reasonable price is between £70 and £100 a metre, dependant on colour. White is cheapest.

bullshit! i can do it for £40 pm and use freefoam boards and eurocell gutter with insurance backed guarantee and pl insurance - i just do it all on my own ! all my work is through recommendation so no expensive publicity

I returned home from work early one day to find some company just finishing off installing facias, guttering, soffits etc.. and I hadnt asked them too!!.. office had got paperwork mixed up!

I paid them £300, rather than the £900 they wanted!

The previous poster was talking about full replacement I think mate, not capping.

You fell for it and it cost you £300

id fall for it again too!!.. I had many quotes, cheapest was £800, and know manny people who paid more..

i was quoting for replacement- you know the mark up on fascia soffit and guttering, with minimal overheads and no comebacks you can make a comfortable profit :)

I wondered why you used 2 different products? I was assured the Solid Eurocell was better than Freefoam which as the name suggests is a foam with a outer lining - I am talking about the Fascias and Soffits. Not trying to be clever, but I have specified all Eurocell for a very large project and also thought from the guarantee perspective, it would be better to use one manufacturer. Would like to hear your opinion, thanks

I personally do not like eurocell fascia but im sure there are others who swear by it on the ogee fascia the corners do not fit very well and only come in 300mm length and they do seem to discolour still whereas freefoam boards can be upgraded to a twenty year colour fastness guarantee are lighter for handling and corners up to 600mm and fascia boards up to 600mm in width and to cap it all they are cheaper as well only by a small amount but on a big job it all adds up I don't even use eurocell gutter any more I use flo plast now much better apart from eurocell ogee gutter which is good
this is only one mans opinion but its what works best for me and it is still all from one supplier - roplas . And eurocell fascia is made just the same with an outer skin but just with a much denser core material but it is this outer skin which needs the longevity and I do not think it does - eurocell will not offer to extend a guarantee beyond ten years I just think they are too far stuck in the past
