Hi there,
I've just ordered a lot of Kingspan 120mm K7 Kooltherm boards for an actic conversion. The building control/architect specified it had to be Kingspan.

I've just taken the delivery and all the boards are unmarked, no Kingspan logo. They are the right colour (pinky with silver foil) but the lack of logo has made me suspicious if they are actually Kingspan or some cheaper alternative.

Has anyone had any experience? Does Kingspan sometimes come unmarked? Have checked with the supplier and they say it definitely is Kingspan K7 they've supplied.

Thanks in advance! Dave

I bought some Kingspan the other week and 1 side has the Kingspan logos and the other side is plain.
I ordered an extra sheet to complete the project (from same supplier) and they sent 1 whick looked identical but it had Celotex logos on 1 side (plain on the other side)

Celotex is a bifferent brand, but the same stuff as kingspan really.

As for the OP, I've only ever seen kingspan with a light yellow core. If yours has a pink core and no kingspan logos on it, then it sounds like it isn't actually kingspan.

Did BC specify kingspan as the brand, or just that type of insulation?

Kingspan is to insulation what hoover is to vacuum cleaners.

Kingspan makes two different types of board. The yellow core board is called Therma, whilst the pink core is Kooltherm - Kooltherm is the better performing insulation.

Both product ranges have different facings according to the application.
Until quite recently some thicker products did have plain facings, but this has now been changed so that all branded products will now say 'Kingspan Therma' or 'Kingspan Kooltherm'. You may have just a slightly older product.

Some products do not have any branding on them - these tend to be sold as part of other manufacturer's systems such as flat roofing.

If you asked for Kingspan from your distributor then they should supply that as it has different thermal properties from other boards on the market and its not the same company.

Hope that clears this up.
