Complete removal of radiator

Hello all

We are having building work done in our hallway and wish to remove a radiator completely to replace with a door entry. After draining the system down and removing the radiator and pipe where should i 'cap' it off to? What can i use?

Ideally cut back as much of the deadleg as possible then cap off with solder stopends.

Leave the rad outside for some p ikey to have if you're getting rid of it, but keep any copper since it's worth weighing in at a scrappy.

I thought that just wanted someone else's opinion. Do they do stop ends that are smaller as the dead legs are micro pipe. Can i just crimp the ends?

Removing it for now but when new doorway has been established - i will then be putting it in another part of the hallway

Yes smaller fittins are available - if it's a temporary situation you could use speedfit stopends.

Are speedfit stopends reliable? What bar pressure will the stopends be holding? I don't want to wake up in the morning for there to be water everywhere

They'll take more pressure than you'll need in the system by a long chalk.

Okay thanks a lot for your help.

I'm just trying to fathom out if my micropipe is 8mm or 10mm. Speedfit 10mm stop ends are easy to come by but 8mm speedfit stop ends i can see being difficult to get hold off.
