I am going to replace my Texecom Veritas R8. I don't know the code, the factory-resets are not working, and the (LED) keypad is manky anyway.
Thankfully the engineers who installed it did a stellar job of labelling all the wiring, so I think it will be relatively straightforward to replace it with a similar system.

I was going to replace my R8/LED with an R8 Excel & LCD keypad, but the more I think about it, the more I want a brass keypad & prox reader/fobs.

Do you foresee any issues with going from the R8 to the Premier, and utilising all existing wiring & sensors? Looking at the installation guide, I can't see any potential issues at all.

How much movement do you think there might be in the price of the keypad from various resellers? It seems a bit much at £85+vat, when I can buy a full R8 Excel + LCD keypad for £45+vat. I'd expect the keypad to be £50 tops.

cheers,
Carl

none... you get what you pay for the premier is a far better panel with far many options than an excel or r8 plus

but the panel is cheap! it's the keypad that's expensive!

Do you see any potential issues with me replacing the R8 with a Premier? Other than trying to get hold of the proper manual.. ?

I hear the keypads do "keypad zones" and other clever stuff.

I think I'm going to go for a Premier 48 since I gather they can do some clever automation related stuff that I might tie in with a Raspberry Pi.

I'll no doubt be back with questions. so my £45 replacement alarm is currently running at £160.. :D
