So speaks the one showing all the traits of a myopic fool.
Hears/reads a bit of scandal then claims the person to be a pervert. Sod due process eh?

If you are going to label people at least get the label right.
Let's not derail this thread about that little girl any further with these silly arguments. Use the savile thread.

This girl has gone missing for a few days and is declared dead - so why is Maddie declared alive?

This is a high profile case so the police just have to make an arrest. What were those other high profile cases? Guildford 4 - Birmingham 6? It matters not who they arrest as long as they arrest and charge somebody.

It is quite possible that the police have forensic evidence as well as comments made and information given during the interviews, which they have with held so as not to ruin the chance of a successful prosecution.

Does anyone here think there's even a sliver of hope that she may still be alive?

It's a mystery as to how they are able to charge him with murder in the absence of a body :?

They must have some information which they haven't released.
Especially as they focused so strongly around this one character.
If it turns out that he wasn't responsible then they've made one monumental mistake in the way they've handled things, I can't see that they would leave themselves so open, so as I said they must know something we don't.

Very true sooey. But KNOWING is no good without Being abble to PROVE it--in this day and age .

With the greatest respect-- There is Always a chance that the little girl may still be alive .
We all sincerely hope so .

Please lets just hope .

I don't reckon the police have got a thing on him. The girl played with his kids in his truck - so forget forensic there.

The girl played with his girls at his house - so forget the forensic there.

If he has done it (and there is a sizable question mark) then the only way to convict him is by finding the body and his DNA in a place where his DNA didn't ought to be.

However, there is a pretty good chance the body may never turn up.

Drive for an hour into the Welsh hills, hike for 30 mins in a forest and bury the body under a clump of bushes and no-one will ever find it. Just like that young lad's body that Brady killed has never turned up, even though they had a rough idea where it was. It could be 20 miles from the village they are searching.

Why were the police so slow to arrest him?

A girl goes missing and is reported climbing into a left-hand drive truck? How many of those are in that area? I bet he's got the only one.

What relationship does he have with this family?

Anyway now the church service is over (mourning sickness), then no doubt the outside broadcast vans will pack up and the big name reporters will head back to the studio and find a new soap opera news story to follow like a reality TV show.

That's what happened to Martian.
Although we shouldn't be jocular on a "serious" thread, my I just remind you that in Martian's case it is unlikely that he would be found primarily because nobody would really be looking

Anyway, back to topic

It is a bit premature for any legal boffs to be making a statement.

The point some people seem to overlook is... The arrest status was changed to murder long before the 5pm deadline.
He was 'charged' shortly before the deadline.

Even though details aren't released to the public. They know it's him.
