Hello....I've just moved into a newproperty new to me not a new build.
The boiler has died on me after living here for three weeks.
I would like to know if this is a good deal please...
A Worcester Bosch 25SI with a 7 year warranty and a system flush and a magnaclean all fitted including VAT for £1550...

I am short on funds and don't want to be ripped off so any advice would be greatly appreciated....I need to be quick though as I have three young children and no hot water or central heating at the moment!!

Thanks x

Yes it is fine, although the boiler is in the lower end of the middle bracket. The system will need to be spotlessly clean after the flush.

What was wrong with the old one that couldn't be repaired. (make/model is)

Personally I'd be worried its too cheap

Ask another local engineer for a quote

Ask British gas for a quote

snap their hand off , no way would I carry out that work as cheap as that

gs1985- If you read above, I detect the OP is looking for you to advise it's too dear. Opinion on our trade is so ingrained in some people that they'd suspect being ripped off if the quote was for a hundred quid.

Thank you all for your responses.

I am not saying its too cheap I have no idea what is or isn't the right price.
The company with this offer are really well established where I live over 30 years and I know the daughter in law of the owner - its a special offer they are running throughout October.

The old boiler is a Ravenheat and its approx 10 years old I am led to believe it is one of the cheapest most rubbish boilers you can buy but I only inherited it.

I have had other plumbers in and I've been offered an Ideal +24 boiler for £1400 also with a 7 year warranty but from my own research I believe the Worchester Bosch is a much better boiler.

Bite there arm off

thats dirt cheap ......... although if myself I would pay a little extra and go with The 29CDI classic if the gas main is big enough to the boiler ..... should be about £100 more and well worth the extra money

How much would you have charged?

I dont have fixed rates I charge what the job requires after visiting the site to quote but would never be that cheap even if it was a very easy job,yes there are lots of companies out there that would compete for this type of work and I cant really blame them if they are desperate for the work, desperate times for a lot of really good installing companies, fortunately I am in a position that I can still turn down such work

This is where I fall down on the details....what is the difference between the 25SI and 29CDi....The man that came today said the 25SI is more than adequate for my needs....One bathroom and 8 rads....he did offer me the 30SI for £1700 but said the difference in water flow/pressure would be minimal for my needs.

So what would the 29CDI offer me that would be any better?

Thank you for being so informative and patient with me...I am a typical "girl" when it comes to these things!

The Cdi is just a better made boiler, different insides completely. Good price for the boiler if that is the full price fitted. My only concern is that if you are running a mixer shower(??) then a 25kw may be a bit low on power. But if you have an electric shower then get it fitted at that price ASAP. Expect to pay a fair bit more for the Cdi.
