Hello everyone
New to the forum and would appreciate anyone's advice.
I am considering getting a boiler fitted (free) under the Eco scheme.
It is an Ideal Logic 30he.
Yes, it's free, but I would appreciate people's input on what they are like, problems etc. I know Ideal haven't had the greatest of reputations in the past, but wondered I anyone had experience of them.
Many thanks

Depends on what your situation is now. If you have no boiler, or an old, unreliable, inefficient one, then a new Ideal would be an improvement.

Do you have any other choice of boiler under this scheme? What service backup do you get?

Thanks for you reply.
Current boiler ( sime format 80c) is a bag of crap basically. Inefficient, and don't want to waste any money on it.
No choice of boiler far as I'm aware, but I suppose 2 year guarantee with the potential new one is an improvement.. :)

If it`s free then I think you are probably unemployed and ungrateful and will be given what we,the taxpayers deem suitable and efficient to your basic needs. That is usually the scenario. If I`m wrong and you do contribute to society then I apologise in advance. Did I mention that it will be the cheapest old tat that we can do a deal on?

unemployed and ungrateful

I think most unemployed people would be very grateful for a new boiler free of charge, do you know any who wouldn't?

I think in truth most unemployed would be grateful for a free breakfast

Mogget, I work in the Social Housing Sector, Most unemployed are very ungrateful and demand everything for free. They expect and get the highest level of service but still complain,we turn up daily to fit boilers, gas fires, kitchens, you name it, free of charge, but treated like we are doing them a favour.

Fair enough, we've obviously seen society from different angles and have had a different view. Interesting that's what you see (and I assure you I am not being sarcastic).

I also work in social housing ...I would say 80% of the "tenants" don't know what side their bread is buttered. There mentality is totally different than what me or most other workers. Sounds very streotypical but unfortunately true.

Hear, hear Exbg? wot a crap username lol Are you an ex BeeGee fan??

You are obviously from the South of England.

I am not ' unemployed', just on a low wage.
I have always worked and have paid into the system like other taxpayers.

There certainly seems to be a right wing bias on here. Why is it necessary to offer opinions/assumptions on the social status of posters asking for advice on plumbing or heating issues. I was subject to similar abuse recently.

This forum is for plumbing and heating advice, not political rants!

You're welcome. We poor, freeloading scumbags who do not have the opportunity to do cash-in-hand-pay-no-VAT-rip-the-customer-off jobs have to stick together. :D

You've been on this forum for 5 minutes and already some cowboy is having a pop at you. Great first impression you got!
At least I was allowed a few months grace before being abused. (If you discount the light-hearted 'counterboy' jibes. )
