Just wondering if anyone knows why my immersion won't work. Its brand new, was just checking it there and I have a short between the therm stat and the bath, I disconnected the wires going into the stat and checked again and the short is between bath and the fixed part of the stat if that makes sense as in not neutral side of the stat. Its the RCD that's tripping also not the MCB, which seems not right. Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks

I am probably having a blond moment but why have you got a short to the bath? Is the bath cross bonded.
We don't know yet.
You'd think he would have tested to the cylinder or pipe first and not gone any further.
I presume he means the bath element, rather than the actual bath.

Sorry ya I did mean bath element, got a new immersion put in and its working grand, only thing is I still don't actually understand why the RCD was tripping!. Plumber could'nt explain either. Won't lose any sleep over it anyway. Sorry bout the photo, new to this tablet. Thanks for your responses.
