Hi all

Just got the keys to my new house (1930's semi) and in the main bathroom is a close coupled toilet. When it is flushed, the floor around the pan is wet.

Any ideas of what the problem could be?

Thanks in advance

More than likely its the doughnut washer seal between the cistern and the pan thats displaced - this involves splitting the two parts to replace it.
(Assuming its not an outlet leak of course!)
John :)

Thanks John

Doesn't seem to be coming out of the connector to the soil stack.

Can the doughnut washer be purchased separately?

Sure - there are a couple of types but Toolstation 39353 is the popular one.....most sheds have them.

Its an easy fix mate and it happens all the time......I always go for a heavy silicone squidge around the doughnut although some say it isn't necessary. The trouble is, the doughnut is fine on its own if the floor / wall is perpendicular. If it isn't, it can need some help!

I think the best thing will be for me to take apart and find out exactly where it is leaking from. 100% not the soil pipe connection. Has toilet blu in it, so should make it easier to spot

Had a look carefully today and its actually leaking from the pan connector. Not sure if the soil pipe is too short or if it just needs a new connector
