TTC, I think your taking the location too seriously.

I just want to be on an island full of virgins, unfortunately i'm not - I'm in Lancashire

My in-laws retired to the BVIs and I've been there many times.
IMO its a fruitless task searching for virgins anywhere in the Caribbean (or Lancashire)

Cheers UncleBob, thats certainly a cheaper place to get the illuminated bits.

I can get them then find some switches to fit instead of the more expensive MK range.

Doing things on the cheap doesn't necessarily mean bad but it definitely doesn't mean good.
Single gang MK switch is £1.31.

Before you buy check out...

since you are rewiring already it should be a doddle.

So the FCL does not need to be included in the circuit.

How much is it going to cost to run a pair of neons 24/7/360 -probably not a lot. And although currently cfl this may change.

I found this thread but its in the wrong forum.

The light linked to in that thread is discontinued

And was also "Not suitable for use with Low Energy Lamps".

No separate connections for the light - it too would be unsuitable. Even if it fitted a UK back box. Also doesn't appear to be CE marked.

Whilst they say not suitable for CFL's, I already have 2 of these on the top attic stairs that are illuminated and work OK with the cfl.

So TBH I take the not suitable bit with a pinch of salt.

And as said - I can do what I want as I'm replastering so can provide wiring just for the backlight.

Not if it's built into the switch in such a way that you can't access the connections, and it is connected across the switch terminals. But you could wire the MK one to a neutral.
