This is a bit of a strange request but my church are getting involved in setting up a food bank. We are going to have a box in the church so people can leave donations of tins or packets of food in it.
We have a church hall that we rent out to loads of different organisations and it has been suggested that I should make a box so people who go to those groups can donate tines or packets of feed, the problem is that we have been warned that if it is a simple open box then people will steal from it.
Does anyone have any ideas of how I can make a box that is easy to place a tin or packet of food in but hard to remove stuff from without a key.

get hold of a shopping trolly and adapt a flap for it,that only goes down a certain way that way theiving hands cant get to the goods.

bolt the trolley to the floor or there have it all.

Why is this in the woodwork section?

Have a look at the boxes use for shoe/cloth drop donations.

Make a large box and cut hole to allow goods to be placed in, fit a one way flap just under the hole to prevent pilfering.[Spring loaded].
