We should be so proud of our military forces...

Only me that hates us?
On this forum, I reckon your the only one who seems to "Hate" this country.
.
We also have murderers who sit with joysticks in hand playing with their war toys whilst civilians die in their scores.
What just do you expect these controllers to do when those who actively target our troops, choose to hide amongst a civilian population? They can't,, nay, dare not, wait until these legitimate targets come out into the open (which they never do) These targets are the "generals" of the insurgents. Those who send insurgents to their own deaths. Those who send insurgents to kill and maim our own troops. These scum of the earth deliberately hide behind a shield of civilians, hoping this will protect them.
Always remember, this is war, and the first victim of war is innocence. (and according to the bible, no one is born innocent,,, we all have the stigma of the original sin ) (apparently)

it's a big man that can hold up a bus and shoot defenseless young girls, does he get a bravery medal for such a daring deed?
It's a 'big man' that can execute someone in cold blood who is no threat to him...

It wasn't a 'moment of madness' as some are saying - it was a calculated act, and the others involved in the discussion on how to do it should have been convicted of conspiracy to murder!

Of course were it the other way around the army would be screaming from the rooftops about the brutality of the enemy, but many are calling for 'leniency' and he keeps his anonymity...

The double standards are breathtaking...

As I say, no wonder others hate 'us'...

Anyone who doesn't get that is at best extremely dim!

Hence why there is such a thing as the Geneva Convention...

The squaddies certainly knew that, hence why they referred to it!

So should we ignore the convention when its 'our side' that commits the crime?

The only way to behave is to maintain the moral high ground...otherwise the 'terrorists' win - which they have increasingly been doing judging by some of the blindly jingoistic comments here!

Easy for you sat safe at home isn't ellal to see things so black and white, easy for you to do the right thing.

Those marines had endured six months of real tough fighting. And that just one of many tours when they had watched their friends blown to pieces or shot to death. Smelled their blood, watched it seep into the sand, watched their lives drain away. Lived with the very real fear that they could be next.

You would have to be really dim to fail to understand why some soldiers become dehumanised while fighting a war while you are sat safe at home. It's easy to apply the rules of the civilised  world where heroes are seldom if ever made, when you're sat safe at home.

So what are we doing there in the first place? No-one has EVER given an explanation. Will you do that AJStone? (he won't)

That's the best explanation I've ever heard - and you're absolutely spot on.

I really don't know what all the fuss is about.

Didn't that marine do the insurgent a big favour by sending him to paradise where he'd be presented with 70 virgins?

(I have to admit that I think 70 would be too many for me, though.)

So what would YOU have done? Murder? Are you a potential murderer? Will you tell us?

There's a lot of potential murderers on this site joe, if only they could get their hands round your neck.

When terrorists killed Lee Rigby, they saw no difference in killing a man who was off duty or in a war situation. So why should British troops see a difference. He was the enemy, now he is dead. Job done.

So which government did the Lee Rigby killers represent?

It was never treated as a terror attack, just a plain old every day murder.

Where do you draw the line then???

If I was fighting an enemy 100yds away and wounded him, realizing he was no longer firing at me but I pumped another ten bullets into his bod, thus killing him, Would THAT be murder?????
