I'm also thinking to paint my stairs spindles, they're not many so i'm thinking to paint them via spray with water based gloss paint and primer/undercoat as it's bare wood at the moment but i'm struggling to find any good water based primer and gloss paint. The only paint i've found so far with some decent reviews is Crown Quick Dry Gloss Paint still no primer.

Any recommendation please?

Thanks

A lot of WB paints aren't sprayable (something to do with atomisation i think). Spraying is harder than it looks and forget those cheap things you see on the diy shopping channels, they spit paint rather than spray, and if you haven't got much to do just use a brush. Johnstones aqua gloss and u/c is about the best of an average lot.

Thanks but i was going to use Wagner sprayer which i used to paint all my fences last summer and it was great. Johnstones is not available everywhere easily, is there any other one you reckon?

Thanks

You can't spray the johnstones. Its easily available online though. I don't know which WB are sprayable, you'll have to google and look at the data sheets.
Spraying interior to more intricate areas is completely different to doing a fence. You need the correct tip size, viscosity and enough oomph to get a good finish, you'll need PPE and to mask up surrounding areas, its just not worth the hassle for smaller jobs.

Well i agree with you, i'm hesitant to use spray inside but it's my friend who's convincing me to use it and he says it doesn't matter if it says on the tin that it's spray-able or not it just works!

Thanks
