concealed ceiling ambient lighting

Looking to install something like the image in this link

Not quite sure of best method to create the off set from exsisting ceing leaving space for led strip light or similar.

Advice would be welcome..

It's called cornice lighting

If you don't want the drop cornice around the walls like

then drop a batten from the ceiling and mount the cornice to the inside of that.

I was thinking about doing something similar in the space around my Roof lantern. I wanted to do something that looked nice, but doesn't make it look like an office. I was going to drop a batton down and the and try to make it blend in as much as possible.

I really like the Phillips Hue light strips - I think you could have some fun with those.

Probably - but as long as it's easily accessible it can be maintained.

Thats the effect although not really wanting to spend that much as have 24 metre in total. Maybe look to knock something up with mdf or similar.
