Will a Flash drive USB "pre-loaded" in the USA operate in the UK? In other words, are there two systems for USB's?

I remember that some years ago, CD's, and maybe DVD's, required certain compatible computers in Europe and N. America.

The only issue you can have is if you are using a USB formated for an Apple Mac and you try to use that in a PC - they can have different file formats (Apple HFS, HFS+ and HFSX Microsoft NTFS and FAT32). FAT32 is fine for both.

If you use Microsoft Windows in the US and the same in the UK you'll be fine and don't have to worry or check anything I mention above.

rjm2k, thank you for the reply.

skhudy, thank you also for your reply - its a pc at the UK end, so all should be well.

Of course, once it arrives in the UK the capacity will automatically be 10 times smaller (because stuff in the US is 10 times bigger) :)

BTW - where is Windows written again?

I never suggested that he would be using windows, I was asking where the software is from - in the main its US based, thats where it was written -even if it is now modified in India and we use it in the UK.

Dont forget that in assume you make an ass out of U first :)

There is no difference and USB can be used anywhere and almost with any operating system and any computer. There are some difference while saving files in NTFS,UTF-8 OR ANSI. but i believe it shall not matter . thank you

One of these has nothing to do with the others, and the other two have nothing to do with most things.

Then again, what can you expect from someone here to spam about a website?

No, I don't.

I do, however, know the difference between a filesystem and a character encoding scheme.
