We recently had a new electricity meter fitted and since then have had issues with our consumer unit constantly tripping. Had a look this morning and noticed the 100 amp light was constantly on even though most appliances were switched off.

Is it ok for the 100amp light to be on?
I have tried the usual going round turning everything off and one by one turning them back on but this didn't show any issues.

Any ideas would be appreciated as this becoming very annoying.

Thanks

Having the meter changed will not have had any influence on making something trip now. Is it a RCD that is tripping? With a test button on it? The red light will stay on sometimes in between when it's recording how many Wh are being used. So if you had put the kettle on a for a minute you would have seen the red light blink again.

Not it's the cu itself that keeps tripping.
I can see the 1000w light flashing occasionally but the 100amp light is on more often than not.

We have had an issue with the dishwasher tripping it recently but that seems to have stopped.
This morning I had cu on, all the rcds on but no power in the house. The test button wouldn't trip the on off switch on the cu.
It's an old mem memera 21, should I be worried about the test button not working?

Phone DNO immediately. I would suspect a loose screw I have seen where a faulty thread in a meter has caused the torque driver to not apply the proper compression on the cable which has then over heated and the lad fitting the device was sacked not really his fault the thread was faulty he followed procedure to the letter. Once over heated the fault on thread clears so impossible to really tell who or what was at fault. However the case does point out how errors can be made so phone DNO and get them to return and check it.
