Hey.
Replacing the facia to a plastic one... I know.. metal in the bathroom
The light fittings (fluorescent tube type) have just 2 core (red and black) going to them from the switch. The main supply to the switch is 3 core (red, black & green/yellow). The earth lead in is secured to the earthing point on the back box. Do I need to run a separate earth cable to the light fittings? Or is it going to be a rewire of those circuits? Can I get away with swapping the metal back box and replacing it with a fixed plastic back?
What is the best solution that will help me conform to the current IEE regs?
Oh the build was done in 1996 if that helps. The ensuite has a fully earthed system... Meaning the cabling from the switch to fittings is 3 core. Does it matter that they differ in the same building?
Thanks in advance
