Hi,

I'm plasterboarding the ceiling In my garage and I was wondering if it would be ok to paint straight onto the plasterboard without plastering it? I don't want to fork out the extra money to plaster the ceiling as it won't be seen very often. If it's OK to paint straight on, what is the best method to do so?

Thanks

Mist Coat to seal it then two coats of Emulsion

What exactly is a mist coat? 50% water 50% Emulsion?

Correct, when painting new plaster I use slightly less water for mist coats around 20-25%. With 75-80% emulsion.

I would imagine the ratio for plasterboard maybe slightly different though due to its paper covering. ( someone more experience will hopefully be along to confirm the ratio.)
