I believe that DC's opinion is that islam is a subject that should not be discussed on this forum. Up to a point, he's been quite successful in that respect.

I see no harm in discussing the matter, as it has featured extensively in the media (even the Grauniad) in recent years. Trying to sweep the issue under the carpet is not going to help things and will only result in many people's feelings and fears festering.

It is a very important matter that needs to be discussed in a civilised fashion.

I vehemently disagree wirh handyjack's racist views, but at least he has the courage to open his eyes and consider the reasoning and logic against his views. Even if he does attempt to dismiss my comments as "making little sense" but then hanging on my every word.

What handjack doesn't realise is that he's so wide of the mark, he's dropped the ball and is blissfully unaware of it. I've never attempted to justify any religion, quite the opposite, I've explicitly stated that I do not support any one religion. I do, and will continue to argue for the right of anyone to belong to a religion without persecution.

What my focus is, is anti-racism, anti-islamophobia, anti-homophobia, anti-prejudice.
