four lights double switch

I understand the neutrals need to go to the neutral busbar and the earths to the earth busbar, i just wanted to know if the earth/neutral wire returning went under the same screw as where they started or under the screw next to where they started or is it the same result which ever way it's done.
The consumer unit does have RCD protection.
And the live can only go from and to the 32 amp fuse.
It's a small consumer unit and only four sockets.

Are you talking about a ring final circuit that has two legs/outgoing and incoming cables. Thus two lives, two neutrals and two CPCs?

The size of CU and number of sockets, does not alter the amount of safety that should be taken! And as stated new circuits by law require notifying, and also law requires that appropriate provisions of safety must be taken.

By the evidence you have so far presented, I do not believe you have the knowledge to prove safety.

Yes I want it to be a ring circuit out of unit loop through each of the four sockets and then back to unit to make ring main.
I've watched some you tube videos but don't really trust them. that's why I came here.
I'm a carpenter by trade 40yrs, and have done basic electrical work for myself and my family. I've never touched a consumer unit and never would but as this is just looping around his garage I thought it would be relatively simple compared to what electricians do when wiring a house.

Throwing cables in, for a socket circuit generally is.
But testing it off, and proving safety and compliance is a different matter all together. There is a legal requirement to adhere to and I suggest your friend/neighbour finds a competent electrician.

Thanks for the explanation, I know regs have changed but not being a sparky I have no need to read or understand them.
I'll put him in touch with a spark.

Well you have the option of looping in at the switch as deadshort's post or ...
Indeed - but 'looping' is perhaps not quite the right word when there's nowhere to 'loop' to :-)
Is that the best you can offer on the topic John?
There actually was a semi-serious reason for my comment - I wanted to mention the wording since I thought that the OP (who clearly has very little understanding of electrical wiring) might well be wondering where he was meant to 'loop' the supply cable to.

Kind Regards, John

As soon as you decide to do electrical work you absolutely do have a need to read and understand them.

Why do you need a ring final?

What is the supply cable size coming into the garage?

What CPD protects this cable?

What is the supply type?

Are there any buried metallic water pipes feeding the garage?

Etc....
