Running is on the increase whilst team sports are losing numbers, even football. Who would have thought.
Personally, I find it knackering and don't bother with it. The missus is a keen runner and has completed a few marathons. She completed a 37 mile run in Feb!
A lot of my mates are runners too. I just think they do it so that they can pig out later on and justify their munchies.

One thing I do notice though, is that there must be a release of endorphins because there is always this wide eyed jabbering that follows a good run. I guess it' what keeps 'em coming back for more.

Gotta be a good thing though, yes/no?

Well done to your missus :)

Must admit, running doesn't float my boat, but swimming and cycling do.

I thought about going for a run this morning. Had a lie down till the thought went away.

DM

Also he's a keep fit fanatic so has probably done a lot of running.
Cycling is a better keep fit past time. Easier on the joints.

My ole grandfather walked the roads and cycled herding cattle hundreds of miles across Ireland.
He never ran. He never sat behind a wheel either and never believed man made it too the moon.
A life far removed from the stresses the 9-5 sheeple put themselves through today.
And he always said if you see something heavy step over it.
Every night he came home he filled his leather boots with hot ashes from the fire.
He lived to 92 and never had an ache or a pain. And was never in hospital. Though you could attribute his health to the natural diet of his era also. He died from natural causes in his home surrounded by family.
Well least ways that's when he wasn't being ambushed by irish rebels.

Ireland, the land of Saints and Scholars.

Well, when I was a kid it certainly was a very different country. Spent every summer holliday there.

Don't know why but I always spell holiday with a double L.

No doubt RNR/DC will pick that up.

My brothers 'new' hip is seven years old and he is 50 this year.
He is a rep and has never jogged in his life. Joints wear out for whatever reason. Its just that modern medicine means that surgeons no longer wait until patients are decrepit pensioners before acting on worn joints.

Well done to your grand pappy.

There's a happy medium with exercise.
Under do or over do and harm can be caused.

I have a cross trainer exercise bike I use now and again. But usually get my fair share of exercise on the site.

Brother in law was really fit and ran a few marathons. Then he had a few mild heart attacks a few years ago. Though probably didn't help when my sister left him.

If that God person had intended us to run he'd have fitted wheels.
