I've got a large Lead job & I'm looking for a cheap Portapack. Anyone selling one? I'll of course get my own cylinders...... ;)

Unless things have changed cylinders are not as easy as they should be.

What are you doing Dickie?

The rental charge for size M acetylene and size V oxygen is about £170 quid per year.

Exactly.

They charge more that they would cost to buy in an open market.

Odd that BOC seems to retain a near monopoly.

Without the bottles you don't really have a portapak.
All you have is some hoses and pressure clocks.

You don't really need to be Scr**ed by BOC unless you want to

Hobbyweld.co.uk lease out bottles for a single returnable deposit and you then only pay for gas refilling as and when required. For infrequent users this is by far better than what BOC offer.

It's for lead burning Tony, one of the only remaining skills of the true artisan.
Cylinders are not a problem, but thanks for the heads up....... ;)

A Model O blowpipe can be over 100 quid!!!??? Then there's the flashbacks etc. So second hand stuff is a very good option.

The later & then the former. It's on a Castle CG, I think we have almost the same number of Castles as Churches here in Sweatysockland......

He he he.... Built to keep the bloody English out....Should have built them better....

Are they being put back into service for the next referendum?
