Does floor have to be re-enforced for iron bath?

In my bathroom (1930s house) there's a shower but no bath. Bathroom is on the 1st floor.

If an iron bath is installed, does the floor usually have to be re-enforced due to the weight? The floor is standard timber beams/planks.
 
Should be fine providing timber is in good order, will it have bath panel? legs should sit of decent sized timber to help spread the load.
 
it may be helpful to stand the feet on bearers which are each long enough to span at least two joists.


4"x2" is typical.

Yes, it wouldn't be a free standing bath.

Do you mean for the panel to hide the additional bearer timber under each foot?
 
Yes, [see Johns suggestion].Timber size maybe limited by the adjustment available of the legs.
 
Placing the bath close to one of the walls that support the joists will reduce the amount of bend in the joists.
