Currently in the process of scraping the old silicone out from between the wall tiles and bath tub as its gone mouldy.

Under one or two of the tiles there is a few little square things which seem to be of tile material just floating about, what the hell are they for? Have i caused any problem by knocking/moving them slightly?

I dont know guys thats why im asking lol, just loose things which look like tiles about 1cm by 1 cm ish, 3 of them together at two points around the bath.

I cant see how they serve any purpose if thier lose, unless the silicone was stuck to them to start with in which case ooops have i ****ed up?

If they were packing (or spacers for that matter, although they sound a bit big for that), and the tiles are still firm, they've obviously done their job.

Ahh so you mean they could have been put there whilst the tiles were setting on the grout?

There shouldn't be anything behind the tiles apart from adhesive and maybe the odd spacer which has been pushed in the gap when grouting. Anything else sounds like a bit of a bodge.
