Hi folks

I'm sorry if I'm in the wrong forum for this, but I have a problem with my manky boiler.

Its been happening for a while, then it got better but now its extracting the urine! o_O
The problem I'm having with this boiler is that the flame will go out but the boiler is still running as if it was working. But with no flame we have no heating and no hot water but a boiler that is constantly running. It will carry on running even when the timer had supposed to of gone off turning the boiler off. Well its supposed to do.

I have been told its an electrical fault but I'm rubbish with DIY hence me joining this forum :D

Anyway, am I looking at a replacement boiler or could it possibly be fixed by an electrician?

Thank you :)

Does it fire up then flame out then fire up etc etc

Most of the time now, it wont fire up but the boiler will be running as if it should be fired and working fine. Today I checked it after I had to reset it and turn down the heating thermostat. Once reset and the thermostat turned it, it fired up but within 3-4 minutes the flame was out but the boiler was still running :(

Got to say, it does sound like a elec fault, best you get your gas safe service engineer in.

It came on at 9am this morning for the hot water. I turned the thermostat up and got the heating on. After around 5 minutes there was a funny little noise (can't explain what it was like) and I looked at the boiler and the flame was out :(
I'm thinking electrical fault and maybe overheating and flame going out as a safety precaution.

I'm thinking, you need to reach for your wallet and get a pro in. Winter is coming.:D

I had a plumber come out yesterday evening and he thinks its the pump not working properly and the reason why the boiler is cutting out is because its getting too hot and tripping out. Which is what I thought before.
So he should be back later today to replace the pump :D
