Potterton Suprema 60 Boiler

My heating system is banging "loudly" I have a Potterton Suprema 60 Boiler. Had a plumber look at it and he opened and left open the filling valve. The gauge is at zero but it always has been so I thing its broke and not registering the pressure. The sstem was still banging even with the fill valve open so I closed it Same result...Any ideas welcome??

Check to see if your pump is working and if you have 240VAC to the pump terminals, as long as you are safe to check live electrics that is.
