I've also seen, that my architect charged me £49 for a Location Plan map, which actually costs £13. If he has charged a fee for it, he can't put on a fee greater than the cost of the map. If I don't get a satisfactory response from him, where do I stand on this?
What about his time arranging to get it; prints; and colouring the site?

No, it's an Ordinance Survey Location Plan map. Two minutes online and you can buy one, £13, all done and ready.
Don't understand you when you said colouring though.
2 minutes is stupid, it might only take a roofer 2 minutes to replace a tile but he has to find a replacement, access the roof, get back down again etc. See what we're saying?
And I bet when you last bought a house and paid a solicitor you didn't give their absurd hourly rate a second thought.

No, no I don't. Someone else has done the work. The architect did not create the Location Plan, Ordinance Survey did. I've been sold a £13 map for £50 without him informing me of the option that that I can buy it myself for £13.
You could have done all the drawing yourself andsaved some cash that way. What's the difference?
When I do a location plan, assuming I've not got a copy already, I have to login to the map supplier, find the address on the map, draw a border, input the project details, download the map, stick it on one of my title blocks, file it, stick a red border around the site, print it and then issue it, then pay the invoice when it arrives. If you can do all that in 2 minutes then fair play to you.

Uk planning maps do it for you, you click on the size you want, which is £13 worth for this requirement and they send a PDF with it done. No need to insert it into anything, the map is the map as the map comes.

Why would it not be ok? That's what the Planning Office want, a location map to show the location of the property and that is exactly what I have from my architect, the £13 map from Uk Planning Maps, but for an extra £37
But he's had to draw a red line around the site!
Well you generally get what you pay for but you know that already!

It's exactly as sent by UK Planning maps. If I could make money from drawing red lines, I'd join the business.
