Going through my old U.K. image archive, and thought some might like these 1960's electrical appliance ads.

So many memories.

Had the Sunhouse fire, Xpelair, a similar Potterton, AND the fluorescent fitting.

Only it was a blue fluorescent fitting, not red. It looked like a giant Bic biro pen hanging off the ceiling. Removed it 20 years ago, sort of wished I kept it.

Had a horizontal rectangular fan heater like that one ... very state of the art.

Described in the ad as "Air conditioning for offices"

Wonder how ASA would view that today.

No need for memories with that timer. It's been running my parents' central heating since 1984, and it was not new when fitted!

Edit: inside is a pull-out Horstmann timer with on-off switch, like the Eco7 timers they used to do.

It came with the boiler pictured at another house, then removed in early 80s when the boiler and timer were "upgraded". It was then moved to their current property where it was put to use...

It has taken me ages to finally work out why there was a handkerchief on that timer!
