I have what I think will be typical floor to ceiling cupboard on the bedroom floor landing about 2ft x 2ft. Hot water cylinder at bottom, galvanised water tank at top and airing space between.
Water tank is showing it's age not quite leaking but looks as if will, I need help it obtaining a same size tank in modern material to make it easier for me with plumbing, trying not to do unnecessary pipe rearrangements.

It is roughly 17" wide, 18 " high and 15" deep.

Door width opening is 20" inside width is 22 3/4"

Pipes and connectors are at each side so replacement width is the major dimension so width ideal would be 17" still.

Do you know source of a size that would be like for like?
Or as near as possible?
Thanks
David

What is it used for?

How do you heat your hot water?

Hot water cylinder has a coil inside from central heating gas boiler.

But is this tank supplying the hot water cylinder?

If so seriously undersized.

Don't you have a loft above where a proper sized loft tank could be placed?

What supplies/pressurises the heating system?

Tony

Agile. It's not the header tank for the central heating it's the tank for the hot water from the taps it can't be undersized as it as been in use for over 50 years, this is the way they used to do the plumbing, way before combi boiler systems and taking cold water supply from the same tank.

Daniel yes there is loft space behind and above but that would make uneconomical and unnecessary complicated work.

Please forget doing this water supply any other way its just a replacement that I want to do.

The 18"x18"x18" that have links above would be the ones to chose.
Taking the Plumbnation one for example the £28 for delivery is a shocker, although the tank prices look to be in line with what one expect.
Am I unlikely to find a local stockist?
Thanks.

Well you could go to your nearest plumbers merchant and see if they could order one in for you!
For the most part, with a setup that old, most people would probably want to modernise and improve upon it, but if you're happy to just upgrade the tank it's going to be a special order!

Thanks Dilado I not see any point in changing the way this water is supplied as eventually it will become redundant when the time comes to replace the traditional design of central heating comes.

So, just to confirm... Your HW AND your CH are both fed by this small tank, above the cylinder?

No I said its not the central heating the central heating has its own header tank.
Sorry but I know you trying to be helpful but all I want to obtain is a plastic tank to replace an excising galvanised one of a very similar size.

Try a screwfix locally and see what they have, however personally I'd whack a normal size tank immediatly above in the loft. It's as easy to do and will result in better pressure which can't be a bad thing.

Screwfix I checked do not have the 18-18-18 listed but they do list 20-20-20 but not kept by my 4 nearest stores, might just go with pipework mods.
Loft is out, assess and work space limited and support of that weight a problem need strengthening etc. A couple of hours work turned into days.
