When tightening the connections on a washing machine is hand tight all that is required. Or is say half a turn with a pair or grips needed?

If it is the washing machine hose pipe, hand tight is all need.

Yes the hose pipe with the rubber washer. Is this because if you tighten with grips you can split the washer? Also if putting the drain in to a stand pipe do you need to put anything on it to keep it in the stand put when discharging. And if going on to a uni corn part of a sink trap do you need to use a jubilee clip to hold it on? Thanks
Yes, tighting with grip may spilt the plastic hose nut as well. Hand tight is usually enough.
No, if you put drain hose into stand, it will not come out.
Yes, jubilee clip is a must, as if drain hose get soften by hot water, it may loose itself off.

Thanks its a washer dryer do these usualy plumb in the same as washing machines? Just a cold feed and a drain?

I would always tighten a little more with grips , ive hsd to go to loads of leaks where delivery drivers have installed

Plastic on metal with a rubber washer - I only do as tight as I can get with my hand. With a new install I always say to the customer, pull out the machine in a month and tighten it again once the washer has bed in. Too tight and it'll be a pig to come off later too with a deformed washer.
If someone calls me saying they have a leak with their machine hose i just tell them to tighten it and see if that stops it, 95% of the time that's all it needs and no need to go out on a call and charge them for something as daft as that and I usually then get the call when it's something significant.

When you tigthen the.female end.of a flexi on to a 1/2 male iron or iso valve you go more than hand tight, is this not the same?
