Delete text in reply box.

Is there any way to do this after changing one's mind to remove the danger of posting by mistake?
Not that I've found. Apparently deleting one's text is easy enough, but the next time one ues the reply box, it pops up again out of some hiding place in cyberspace :-)

Maybe we should ask admin.

Kind Regards, John

Not ideal, but i think what i did was delete most of it in the reply box, post the remaining, then delete as much of the post as possible

Yes, posting something (anything - just one character seems to be enough) seems to be about the only way of really 'clearing' the reply box (for ever). However, that leaves the forum strewn with 'messy remnants', since we can't totally delete posts, either (without the assistance of mods/admin).

I even deleted the text and replaced with a line of full stops. Next visit, text is back again.
Yep - similar experiences here. However, as Rocky said, if you actually post those full stops (only one or two are required), that's really 'the end' of what one had previously typed.

Though if you had then PREVEIWED the dots, i think you find the text dont come back
The dots will stay, but at least you wont post nothing bad.
and to be honest your most likely to postlater on that thread so you can back off the dots then.
Longwinded i know :)

If you wait for it to show that little "draft saved" them it goes away. Not sure if there's a way to force it, but it does after a while automatically.
If you're handy with web inspector and it's a computer not a phone, you can go in and find it in local storage and remove it.

Oh dear, maybe it needs more dots! Anyway previewing is a good tip, I'll use that in future!
