Better with a full day than 2 afternoons. £100 for the day?

What would you want paying if you did it?

is that a trick question? I would pay my self anything thats why I am asking! didnt want to offend the bloke.. he's suggested a figure which I have added a slice on..

have been living out of the UK Asia for 20 odd years so a bit out of touch,,,

I would not go mentioning cash jobs on forums ;) u never know who is lurking

An afternoon or a few hours means a full workday for whoever - so you are looking at two days pay for two days of used up time say £200 min. & cheap at that.
Just try hiring casual labour from an agency for a "couple of afternoons".

AAMOI: £35/hour used to be the min for a self employed tradesperson to break even at the end of a year.

Then as daft as it may sound there are people that can dig and people that can REALLY dig :)

On the other hand if you hire casual labour from illegal immigrants I'm told some of them will do a day's work for a sandwich.

If you're employing the person directly then you must pay at least national minimum wage, any necessary deductions and have employer liability insurance.

Is the digger a labourer by trade or on benefits and looking for a bit of beer money?
