Hi There,

I have moved into a house and have a remote thermostat. I have tried using the model number without much succeess to find a manual to reset the thermostat as it was working fine till my son decided to hold the reset button and put a battery into it.

Any help on resetting this thing would help immensely.

Many Thanks.

Model No Is : Model WL2

I know its basic but have you tried taking the batteries out and putting them back in ?

Was it working before you changed the batteries
Is there any chance you actually put the batteries in the wrong way round, realised you mistake, corrected their orientation and then took the photo.

Take the thermostat to the receiver near the boiler .press and hold the little grey button on the back of the thermostat and then the red light on the receiver will flash , release the button, then hold again untill the red light on the receiver stays solid, and that is it paired again

Yep. When i do that the whole display flashes on and off constantly. Only way i can get it to stop is to remove battery and hold reset button and insert the battery, but that doesn't bring back the ability to adjust the temperature.

And the batteries were in the correct way.

Hi Ian,

The display is just flashing on and off. When i try that, nothing is happening at all.

Its probably flashing because its trying to bind with the receiver, as said before by ianmcd try rebinding.

That is the new design British Gas wireless thermostat.
To reset it take the batteries out.
Turn the power off to the receiver.
Turn the power back on and press the button on the receiver for about 10 seconds until the top light starts flashing.
Put the batteries back in the thermostat.
After a short while the top light on the receiver should turn green and the thermostat's display should show the current temperature and set temperature.

If those Duracells are brand new then I suggest you either have had them for a long time or the shop you bought them from doesn't sell many. They are of vey short shelf duration - 2019 in the oldest one

Me and the missus are having problems with our 16yo son at the moment and we are "unable to find any kind of instructions"!

Sorry  - couldn't resist.
