Hi everyone, hopefully a very simple one but can not get my head around it.

I'm mounting a wall mounted bath spout and separate taps, by Hudson reed.

http://www.homesupply.co.uk/hudson-...ll-mounted-bath-spout-tap-bc309hx=BC309HX.htm

The 3/4" thread on the spout is not long enough to allow a tap connector to be fully inserted and allow for 12mm plasterboard wall - let alone the tiling as well.

Can anyone spot what I'm clearly missing please.

Thanks,

Justin.

Welcome to the world of imported cheap Chinese carp, good luck getting spares for it in a few years time...

How long is the thread? Could you extend it to make it fit?

Well, no one particularly advertises where the products are coming from and if there are any spares etc going to be available in the future, but hey ho - its been purchased now :) and needs fitting.

You kindly mention about extending it - I presume the extension would be a female thread and would take up the same amount of space as the tap connector thread will?

I will take a picture/measure tonight a post accordingly,

Cheers,

Justin.

Hudson Reed belongs to Ultra Fininshing, and claims to source all its bath taps in the UK.

A picture of the spot would be useful, with a measurement of the existing thread and some idea of the length of extension needed. Maybe a 3/4" socket and a 3/4" running nipple would do the job, but the hole in the wall would need some opening up.

Not seen that claim, but the spec sheet from this particular tap very definitely says China...it also says it's not WRAS approved, so it shouldn't be used on a mains water supply or fitted in a house with an unvented cylinder or combi boiler

Depends on how you are doing the plumbing up to that sprout.many ways of doing it.

Can get extensions like this one, https://www.amazon.co.uk/CORNAT-TEC382501-Chrome-Brass-Extension/dp/B000VT9HEK (not advertising and other supply firms are available)

yes they are imports from China, dont be fooled by the product name.

Fitted some of their Hudson Reed designer rads (not my choice) and they have been excellent.

Personally i would buy steel items from this country rather than china if possible.
