That is because they are in an alliance that wants a hard Brexit, does not accept same-sex marriage (they think it is unnatural), and disagree with abortion (they argue it should be an offence and punishable by prison).
What is worse, they do not even know the terms of the alliance yet.
No wonder they are not laughing!

Oh, and they are in an alliance with a party that is well experienced in negotiating with other parties!
Oh, and they think the evolution history lesson should be replaced with the creation story.
