Rear extension help.

Hi,

I'm looking at getting asingle story extension next year. I'm looking at my option for non-planning permission but will go through them if necessary.

The main park of my private/'rear' garden is off the side of my house but starts at the rear.

Can I extend off the rear by the standard 3m without planning permission but have a longer extension which travels past the side wall of the house (But doesn't attach to the side wall if that makes sense) without applying for planning?

Sorry if this doesn't make sense but I'm a noob when comes to construction.

Only if the width of the extension (side-to-side) is not more than one-half the width of the house.

I'm sorry for the 'drawing' its pretty horrendous, the cross marks the rear door and the red is the extension.
It's a semi-detached.

Judging by the post above I may have to have planning anyway.
