Luck, perhaps?

"Following the Grenfell Tower, 60 high-rise buildings in 25 local authorities in England
have failed fire safety tests so far. But no local authority or housing association tower blocks in Scotland have been found to use the same kind of cladding."

"In Scotland, a change to building regulations in 2005 made it mandatory for builders to ensure that any external cladding "inhibited" fire spreading. The new regulations were introduced following a fatal fire in a Scottish tower block in 1999."

What a shame the Westminster government had nobody who cared enough about Fire and Building Regulations to achieve the same level of safety.

Perhaps nobody told them.

Oooops, sorry, my mistake.

"Four ministers were warned about tower block fire risks"

"Following a fatal fire in Lakanal House in south London in 2009, a series of recommendations were made to keep people safe.

They were ignored. The government promised a review of fire regulations in 2013, but it still has not happened"

"The government has said there is still no timetable for a review."

oddly, the government itself does not seem to know if Chancellor Hammond was telling the truth last week:

"Housing minister refuses to say if 'non-compliant' and 'combustible' cladding is officially banned"

"Housing Minister Alok Sharma has refused to confirm whether the cladding used on the Grenfell Tower was illegal or banned.

Mr Sharma was asked the question at least five times during an appearance on ITV's Good Morning Britain.

Despite confirming evidence suggested the material was "combustible" and "non-compliant" on buildings over 18 metres, he stopped short of declaring it banned."

Politicians and retired electricians know didly squat about insulated wall panelling.

shadow chanceller reckons they were all murdered

reason there is no cladding in scotland is because it would have all been pinched over night :) has got ally in it
