Hi, many forum posts and my local plumbers merchant have advised to wrap copper central heating pipes in Denso tape before screeding over them.

I'm trying to work the best way of wrapping the pipes. All the pics I can find online of denso tape are massive industrial pipes, not small radiator pipes. So I'm wondering what the best way of doing it is...

Has anyone got any tips for wrapping the tape please?

The tape I have is 50mm X 10m (like https://www.travisperkins.co.uk/Denso-Tape-Synthetic-Fibre-50mm-x-10m/p/480861).

Cheers!

Is the screed deep enough to use foam pipe lagging instead of denso - it's so 20th century;)

it's so 20th century;)

Yes indeed and denso is still around, great stuff :D

Prefer pipe conduit now thou, http://www.johnguest.com/speedfit/product/pipe/jg-layflat-polybutylene-pipe-in-coils/

Thanks all for the tips! I shall have a go, with gloves on :D

in screed will pipe expansion not be a factor to consider

Yes, it is, when the pipe ends are not able to move a few millimetres to allow the pipe to expand an contract the strain on joints can over time create leaks. For example elbows at the end of long straight runs with the vertical pipes held rigidly by the screed will not allow for expansion and contraction.

Ah Denso tape. Disgusting stuff to handle but does a marvellous job in the event of slight leakage from underground foul water joints e.g. clay to plastic!
