How much to repair this?

Scraped a car and was wondering how much to repair in the uk? My car is silver so that’s what the majority of the flakes are I think. Any help appreciated

Couple of hundred max I would think. best to get one of those mobile scratch repairer bods to do it. I had a small knock on the corner of my car sorted by one a couple of years ago. he charged me 80 quid and i couldn't see the join.

I am going to play devils advocate on this purely just for balance as I imagine you have got a mega bill from the owner and think its unreasonable. In my opinion and if it was me I would get myself a 2nd hand door and have the quarter touched up. That said most people will want the full door either replacing and matching or filling and matching. Then they will want the quarter filling and re-spraying which will be a huge area to achieve a good blend. Couple this with the fact that they don't want to allow anyone but the main dealer to do this at around 90 an hour and I think you have yourself a big bill. I would imagine its gonna break down something like:

150 for the door could be a lot more
100 for the paint
360 for the labour

100 for the paint for the quarter
500 for the labour

All that could be done for probably around 200 quid by a dent doctor type guy but then if it was your car would you want to settle for that when it wasn't you that damaged it?

It a horrible thing and people will take the **** unfortunately.

With a scratch as heavy as that I'd guess the panel would be pushed in a little. If the car was mine, I'd visit a bodyshop and ask how much for cash.
Through insurance, £600.....cash £400 maybe.

I think that's well beyond the scope of a dent doctor type repair. Is the car an old Mondeo? Can you give the owner £300 or so and he'll probably live with the damage.

I am not an expert on this but I have done extensive research (read watched YouTube vids) in to this. That said, and from what I understand even a key scratch would be a "dent" - as in requires filler - in terms of repair.

Anyway, tell us what is the repair quote they are trying to hit you with?

Well I guess then it depends on what sort of person you are dealing with. Some insurance companies would write the car off for that damage depending on the age of the car. I had a situation where I bought a 2200 quid car and did 1000ish pound work to it myself. Someone hit it 2 months later. and their insurer wrote it off and said I can only get 1800 off them. Insurance is a Scam and all them you vote for are involved in it somehow.
