Screwing in bulb temporarily kills power in cables

The discussion about FCUs, double-pole isolation, single pole isolation or even no isolation at all, is all well and good until you remember Sozdt's Law, something with which we are all VERY familiar!
Indeed, but it problem about that Law is that is says that no matter was decision one makes, it will prove to have been the wrong one!

In this case, on the face of it one would think that installing a DP switch (which, as I said, is what I would normally do and advise) would be foolproof, but Mr Sozdt has a nasty habit of finding a way of proving us wrong!

If you make a decision and never know whether it was the right one, does it matter in the end?
Definitely need that DIY not philosophy forum:LOL:

As you go on to imply, that is a debatable philosophical question!

However, the more common (and frustrating) situation is one in which one does come to know that it was a wrong decision, since Mr S manages to invoke some downside that one didn't consider, or which one gambled was very unlikely to arise!
