The one that controls the Central heating seems to have packed up, does anyone know who made them? is there a replacement? Or can they be fixed?

if you can take 1 of the actuators off (remove 2 square nuts on the base plate) The part/model numbers are stamped there.

It might be time to upgrade both valves before winter :cautious:

Do the plastic covers just pull off I could not see any screws that keep them on, I didn't want to yank them off in case I damaged them

2 square nuts on the back of the base plate located diagonally ,usually just finger tight.

Have a feel around the back :giggle:

edit,I wonder if these are MOMO valves

DP,yes indeed very much so.

It says 'Satchwell' on them so I think that's a pretty good clue.

Got it off, put the boiler on with constant heat with thermostat on full, no noise or movement from the actuator.

no noise or movement from the actuator.

Does the other actuator move when hot water is selected ensuring the cylinder stat is calling for heat ? Try hot water on and then off,the actuator should motor around.

What are the model numbers ?

I have seen similar ones that used a wiring centre containing a PCB and a relay if you have one of these boxes you wont be able to replace those heads, it will be new valves and a rewire

you will know as you will have a metal silver box that they wire into

I think I've found a replacement from here https://www.heatingcontrolsonline.co.uk/sunvic-satchwell-sm5203-actuator-p-36.html
I've emailed them to see if it will fit to my existing valve body see picture. the Central heating Actuator seems to have packed up I don't hear anything and the boiler doesn't fire up, the hot water actuator works and is a bit noisy the boiler fires up but cuts off after about 30 seconds! One of my relatives is a plumber but lives a long way away and he thinks that the water pump has also gone, I've taken the large front screw off the water pump and turned the shaft it, it's not seized, but when the boiler fire up I cant hear the pump running and it gets very hot! Thanks for all the advice so far, I've been messing about with building a sorting out computers but I'm not an heating engineer. I'm concerned about calling out someone to fix it because it's a old boiler and I don't wont to buy a new boiler if only a few parts are needed.

you will have to check the wiring centre, if you have the relay box that I mentioned earlier those wont work, if you have the relay box the heads are motor open motor close, those heads are motor open spring close
