we have a biasi 24s combi boiler which has developed a fault whereby we can only get hot water out of taps with the central heating being on ? Have had it confirmed that the fault is probably the diaphragm and after more research believe it is , but after phoning round a couple of gas engineers have come to the conclusion that they must think I’m a mug as want to charge to replace either part of the valve or the whole thing then charge the earth for such a short job , so my question is can anyone give me step by step instructions to do it myself ?

Is it a garda m96 24 SM/B ? If you have the service manual ,as supplied with the boiler , you will find the info there. Have a read ,gives you a good idea of what's Involved .you mentioned that its been confirmed what needed replacing ,was that after an engineer visit ?

It was a home serve engineer who spotted it whilst doing a healthcheck on it , I haven’t got the manual !

well you haven't done much research then have you ;) sometimes you need to change the whole valve but mostly you don't but its all in black and white , research is in the eye of the beholder :) , either do your research right or pay someone to do it ;)

Thanks but I wanted help not sarcasm so if you can’t give me any constructive information then keep your opinions to yourself

Thank you for that , however it’s not the right manual and nowhere does it tell you how to fit the diaphragm which was my original question ?

How do you know it's the diaphragm, take the switch off the front hw differential and put screwdriver in the slot to see if boiler starts if not undo the screws holding the diaphragm and change it after a good grease up , oh ye do u still want me to keep my opinions to myself :) .

Well your opinions certainly have my attention now , but where is this differential you are on about ?

Well your opinions certainly have my attention now , but where is this differential you are on about ? And what switch ?

Ok , I can see what looks to be a switch in a clear box which is held in position by a ‘fork’ looking retaining clip is this the micro switch ?

Sorry missed the other post , and yes I think I do know where the diaphragm goes, looking at the boiler it’s on the left at the end of the diverter valve ?
