Ideal Logic+ Reversed pipe connections

Hi, thanks for the reply, I moved the lever on the buzzing box,, also the feed tanks seems ok. The flow pipe dips but only a fraction. All same results tho. Is it possible to have a weak pump or could the system be clogged up? It's been in nearly 40 years I would think. That is if it was put in when the house was built.

So are pumps interchangeable? I believe this one is a potterton\myson. It seems that there are a lot more grundfos around.

Yes, pumps are interchangeable. One more "old skool " thing to try - needs 2 people - one in loft by Feed Cistern. The other, operating a tap, which has a hose connected to it, the other end goes on that drain cock above the boiler. *Watertight connections needed*- jubilee clip on the drain cock. Open the drain cock fully, and carefully see if you can back fill through it. Fill the hose with water before connecting - you don't want to inject a bubble of air. One person keeps an eye on the water level ( so it doesn't overcome the overflow pipe) Boiler off but pump running - see how it goes, good for shifting obscure air locks;)

Well, decided to get a second opinion. This was an older more experienced guy and he said that he thought that it was connected up backwards. He gave us a price for fixing it. I said that I had spent out so much would he mind if I don't pay unless it was working. He agreed. A couple of hours later, it is working great. I have asked the first lot if there is any chance of bit of a refund but not hoping much. Thanks so much for everyones help. I know where to go next time.

Well they come from miles away and obviously a bum outfit. So apart from going with a gun (which I ain't got) I don't know the best way of going about it. I have asked but no reply as yet

Glad you're up and running, sounds like you've had a bad time.

Can we have a pic ? I'll bet he tidied the pipes too

Sorry that I have not replied earlier but for some reason the notifications went into the junk folder. I eventually got £35 back off the rogue traders. Just peanuts but better than nothing I guess. When I have calmed down I will send nice feedback review for them. Yes the pipes are tidy and the filter that was stolen from me has been replaced. I will include pic.
