Hello all

I have a vokera riello and noticed it was making an unusual sound I have never heard before, like a knocking thunderstorm sound rather than the usual calm heating water sound.

I checked the bar and it was -0 ...... do you think this could be the cause of the strange noise? how do I correct the bar and where should the bar be when the boiler is and is not activated?
If I do not do this quickly what could the damage be?

thanks in advance

or post a pic of the pipes below your boiler and we should be able to help you

Well I reset the boiler and got the bar up to 1.5 which it has stayed at all day.
Hot water working fine but only issue is the loud banging noise everytime the hot water is activated. Why could this be?
Its only 8 months old but I do not know where the Benchmark Log Book is and Vokera said without it then I will be charged.

Expansion vessel - takes up expansion of system water when its heated. Uses air on one side and this needs to be at a certain pressure for water to push against... this air “charge” needs checking and recharging if necessary... if that’s to spec and banging/ pressure drop continues then other components need checking... it’s what Plumbers do!

Yes the noise is coming from the actual boiler not pipes or anything else, the hot water from the taps are working fine though but the noise is terrible from the boiler? What does this indicate? do you think the hot water might stop working soon?

Boiler is not getting rid of heat and is kettling. Poor circulation down to one of several reasons.

And does it do this noise everytime it kicks in - even if it were a few seconds between each ignition..? Or is it fine if there’s only a few minutes between each ignition..? (I.e. if you left it for an hour or so it’d make the bang...)

Hope that makes sense...

If your DIY capabilities are limited then this is a call out for an engineer.

Sound like a kettle boiling with little water but the hot water works fine.
Will the radiators need to have anything done to them?

everytime it kicks in and however long its on for it makes that noise the WHOLE time the boiler is activated.

I’ll let @Combicert take this from here... I’ve an early start and am off to the land of nod... and it’s my birthday tomorrow... but, hey... no rest for the wicked and the good don’t need it :(:sneaky::ROFLMAO:
