Boiler below 0 Bars, how to correct? making strange noise.

Yup - i agree... call out engineer.

Had a couple of jobs where a gas valve was leaking slowly (both ferroli’s, unsurprisingly) ... so if the boiler had been off for a while gas would be filling the chamber - then the boiler would kick in and you’d get a loud bang.

As the fan kicked in I assume it was just getting rid of enough gas to allow for combustion - but not enough to avoid the ‘explosive’ element. They were lucky the boiler was still on the wall!

Last one was missed by original service engineerwho simply did a ‘poke and go’ having spied that the trap was in decent condition.

But this doesnt sound like the case with you. Call out an engineer who’ll be able to sort it.

Always worth asking... and you’d know the difference between a bang and a hissing!

Poor circulation - check valves are open etc.. but besides that - call someone out

Well the boiler sounds even worse now and now I have no hot water and no heating.

I’ll let @Combicert take this from here... I’ve an early start and am off to the land of nod... and it’s my birthday tomorrow... but, hey... no rest for the wicked and the good don’t need it :(:sneaky::ROFLMAO:

I’m done mate...

Wife’s just got out of shower and i’m knackered after not the most ‘ideal’ day...

Have a good birthday. 21 again..?

Thanks, in the mean time is it dangerous while waiting for a plumber?

Boiler should “lock out” when internal temp gets too high.

But, just turn it off if you’re worried... you have no DHW or CH anyway!

Decided to just turn it off as like you said no hot water or heating anyhow, plus the sound seemed to be getting worse and the lights on it were going between green, yellow and red.

Very wise. Hopefully it wont be a big job.

Good luck with it and let us know how you get on...

Well boiler fixed, the tradesman said condensation had built up and clogged something up. He had a strong accent and didnt understand most of what he said but something about condensation biuilt up and maybe pressing on something, pressing on the fan maybe?
