Where in the world is it easiest to get rich?

Some of the speaker's comments appear to defy logic though.

"Strong unions in fact subsidise the capitalists". (By driving up the wages of the lowest, and holding down those of the highest).
Leading to greater profits and therefore, more money for the ultimate head.

Less taxes?

10 people on £20k a year pay less tax than 1 person on £200k. But I don't get the argument, unless its an economic stimulus one? That of course does't take account of leakage via trade deficit. i.e. you're workers like cheap Chinese goods.

Measuring the number of rich people per capita is just another measure of inequality, which as he stated at the start is lower social democracies. He says Iceland has just one billionaire, as if that is proof that it is easier to become a billionaire in iceland than in America. In truth very few people become super rich by education, but rather by venture capitalism.

I doubt Iceland is a particularly good comparison for much, their economy pretty much folded in half after the financial crisis and has still not recovered back to its previous levels. I'd say California is the "easiest" place to get brich, if it could ever be described as easy. There is just so much innovation and investment going on there, that if you had a good idea, you'd find it an order of magnitude easier to get it off the ground.

You need to look at the distribution of income and tax rates before drawing a conclusion on the face value of that statement as it is counter intuitive. This is not to say Unions are the answer as we need to look at labour laws and the dynamic between employers and workers.

Venture capitalists are not educated? Can you name me an uneducated venture capitalist?

Does it state millionaires / million people before or after tax?

These are entrepreneurs a VC is someone who invests as part of an investment organisation into early stage and startups.
I could be wrong but I suspect most of those billionaires have invested in fledgling businesses as some point...
